Common Chiropractic Adjustments

While chiropractic care is not intended to "heal" specific conditions, it can help alleviate pain and improve function in various areas. Common areas that may benefit from chiropractic adjustments include the neck, back, shoulders, hips, and knees. Patients often seek chiropractic care for conditions such as neck and back pain, headaches, sciatica, and joint stiffness.

Neck Pain

When your neck is sore, you may have difficulty moving it, especially to one side. Many people describe this as having a stiff neck. Bad posture, sitting cramped over a desk or hunched over a steering wheel, certain sports, and different illnesses can all cause strain and tension – resulting in neck pain.

The chest muscles shorten and contract, causing the muscles in the upper back to become overstretched. This results in rounded shoulders and tight, inflexible muscles in the neck and upper back.

Neck tension is generally connected to the structures in the neck. These include muscles and nerves as well as spinal vertebrae and the cushioning disks in between.

Shoulder Pain

Have you ever fallen asleep with your arm at an odd angle and awakened to sharp pain in your shoulder? Or have you ever lifted something and felt acute pain in your shoulder afterwards? You are not alone. Many Americans suffer from shoulder pain everyday—and there is a solution.

There are many causes for shoulder pain, but the most important thing to understand is that shoulder pain is a common ailment because of how mobile the joint is. The shoulder is a ball-in-socket joint with a vast range of motion. Because of this wide range of motion, you can easily stress your shoulder, pushing it too far without realizing it.
